Avid devotees of Leonard Bernstein’s music are sure to enjoy this eclectic mix of his choral music. Bernstein knows no limits—he wrote choral music for the synagogue, incidental music for plays, full Broadway musicals, masses, choral song cycles, and concert pieces. Our Bernstein celebration includes selections from his Mass, a medley from West Side Story, select choruses from The Lark, and others. We will also present the chamber version of Chichester Psalms written for chorus, harp, organ and percussion. And Bernstein’s “Make Our Garden Grow” from Candide seems both a fitting conclusion to both this emotionally charged concert and season.

The winners of our annual scholarship competition will be introduced during the concert. Who knows, perhaps we can induce them to sing for us as well!
