Which are more passionate: the tangos of Argentina or the choral works of Eric Whitacre? There’s no need to choose, because the Sacramento Master Singers will sing both on our final concert of our 2011-12 concert season. We will sing Primavera Porteña of Astor Piazolla, famed tango composer of Argentina, arranged for choir by Oscar Escalada. We’ll also sing A Boy and a Girl by noted composer Eric Whitacre. These and other works, along with special guests, will round out the program. Conductor Hughes attended the World Symposium on Choral Music in Argentina during August 2011, and he is anxious to share with you the choral treasures he discovered there. Come join us as we prove that It Takes Two to Tango!
